Elhussein : A beacon of light

A beacon of light: The lions roar
By: ©Hassan Idris

The struggle and hope for a better administration and a trusthworthy leadership has been a dreading issues to Sociologists of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Nigeria. Thence, There’s no society in every hitherto existing society that has developed with bad leadership and selfish leaders. The significance of good leadership put a green-light to the transformation, reformation and revitalization of the society. Whence, the society is a juggernaut with the ever present possibilities of running amok.  Like Ghandi aforementioned, " The spirit of democracy is not a mechanical thing to be adjusted by abolition of forms. It requires change of heart."

Nevertheless, from the preceeding years, the megahit of Nigerian Sociological and Anthroplogical student's Association of Nigeria, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Chapter, Nigeria (N. S. A. S. A), has witnessed lots of impunities, political jabberwocky and brouhaha, with nothing worthy of salutations. The survival of  democracy is not guaranteed with bad leadership, bad governance and Kleptocracy.

Erstwhile  the administration has been that of embezzlements, blames, religious dogmatism and politics of sentiments. Thereby, obstructed the smooth running of the system. An administration built up of religious sentiments and bigotry will surely not reach to the peak.  Religion shouldn’t be the basis of selection or running an administration, but leadership prowess, qualities, hardwork, dedication, Justice, fair play and philanthrophy. Like Ghand jettisoned religious dogmatism and sentiments by exclaiming "Yes I am, I am also a Muslim, a Christian, a Buddhist, and a Jew."

Furthermore, leaders such as Ghandi philosophy, should be emulated and learned from or else, we will all not reach the dreamed  land if politics of religion is not jettisoned.
Astonishing, one might be surprised why Karl Heinrich Marx called religion as the "opium of the masses". That religion today has segregated the society with pecuniary meniar and obscurantism. Diluted with molotov cocktails of God,way by embracing hypocracy among the elites. This is why morale teaching is decayed with who gets what, when and how in the society. He then admonished us not to let these so called Angels mislead us in spirituality.  Here,  Marx was not against religion, but the people practicing this religion ( the bad eggs)  and how they use religion to garner support, achieve their personal interest and bring division among the masses. Hitherto, as sociologists, running our affairs in the department shouldn't be based on religious rostrum.

In addendum, Comrade, Abdulrahman Elhussein(El-matado)  has held many political positions and offices with humongous experiences in all political ramifications.  To be succinct, one of his political position held was the Senator, faculty of Social Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Nigeria where he worked inexhaustively with an encomium, the incumbent president of the faculty, Najib Ibrahim Dan Mallam, Comrade, Abu Khalid  of S. R. C  and other great icons.

In furtherance, a leader who is sincere, vocal, free from all soughts of religious sentiments and bigotry deserves to be elected. A just and fair leader! Abdularahman Elhussein (Elma-tado)  is a beacon of light. Like Martin Luther king Jnr  declamation on Justice and fair play, power and love “Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice. Justice at its best is love correcting everything that stands against love”. Well,  to late Maitama Sule's avouchment “ If any congregation goes wrong, the Imam is to be blamed” Therefore, in any social, political, economic, and religious affairs, the leader is to be blamed when there's any brouhaha.  Conclusively, for a better democracy, better leadership and not dictatorship, of Nigerian Sociological and Anthroplogical Students Association of Nigeria, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Chapter.  I present to you an encomium, a beacon of light, a lion with thunderous roars, Comrade, Abdulrahman Elhussein.
Comrade Abdulrahman Elhussein (El-matado ) aspiring president, department of sociology and Anthroplogy, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Nigeria.

My travelogue into poetry and the Giza's encounter by: Hassan Idris

Oftentimes, people infer 'triumphing' as a means of  obtaining riches, fame,or just to become illustrious. Thus, it depends on how we  perceive social reality.  We all have different perceptions in understanding the world politically, socially and economically. Moreover, stepping into writing is one of my greatest accomplishment.  My encounter with Umar Yogiza Jr, is another story to tell. Cogitating within myself, I wonder if, One can ever be creative without having any encounter with books? One must read other people’s work, see through their experiences and perceptions in order to develop a unique kind of creativity.   My voyage into Poetry began  after reading some worth reading poems of  Sulaiman Ayuba,  Adamu Usman Garko, Sultanatul Jamilat, Mujahid Ameen lilo, Maryam Maynerh Saleh, so also Umar Yogiza Jr.   It was then that  I decided to compose a poem of my own but I was punctured with the blow of criticism! Notwithstanding, I realized  that criticism is a man
