Those sparkling smiles
surrounding your face had
been created in the paradise
of beauty where you were the
only Sheila created out
of Diamonds and Golds.

Those becharming lips of
yours electrocuted my soul to
planet Mercury and I had
never got injured; your body
is surely the jurisprudence
of radiant beauty, intriguingly
and jurisprudentially making
me feel intriguingly perfect.

Those cloud-nine walks of
yours healed my locomotor
ataxia and locomoted my heart
to feel the ecstasies of your
love healing deep beneath
my heart the grievance I
hid aforetime.

Those bright teeth of yours
when you smile are whiter
than the skin and toothpaste
of the Nigerian Cheif, Miss
Agbani Darego, crowned
Miss world in 2001.

My travelogue into poetry and the Giza's encounter by: Hassan Idris

Oftentimes, people infer 'triumphing' as a means of obtaining riches, fame,or just to become illustrious. Thus, it depends on how we perceive social reality. We all have different perceptions in understanding the world politically, socially and economically. Moreover, stepping into writing is one of my greatest accomplishment. My encounter with Umar Yogiza Jr, is another story to tell. Cogitating within myself, I wonder if, One can ever be creative without having any encounter with books? One must read other people’s work, see through their experiences and perceptions in order to develop a unique kind of creativity. My voyage into Poetry began after reading some worth reading poems of Sulaiman Ayuba, Adamu Usman Garko, Sultanatul Jamilat, Mujahid Ameen lilo, Maryam Maynerh Saleh, so also Umar Yogiza Jr. It was then that I decided to compose a poem of my own but I was punctured with the blow of criticism!
