Maryama- By: Hassan Idris

I will crucify death if it cross the path of my love for you, I will end her life if she has one. I will succumb my loving soul to  death if she wins this battle of love, and if I stand firm to win this horrific and tragic love battle, I will remove the soul of death and present it to you. I will sit you down on the Sofa of love to watch me battle with my soul if it tries to cross the milky path of my love for you shall I nicely-tattoo my emotions on your heart. I will sacrifice my last breath for your love even if it means battling with the hurdles of the pains of life and death, shall I reap off my skin to serve as a shelter to your sparkling goddess skin. I will make sure my emotions and unending love devotions shall surely capture and beguile your becharming soul with no undivided attention. I will tell death that I'm an immigrant for love cealessly and happily perusing every hook and cranny of life waiting for you to grant my soul ...

Poem:Borno : by Hassan Idris

Like vultures we flew and hid our faces trembling with fear Our harmony thorn to pieces, with our eyes open we sleep, for our land has been raped Like monkeys we live in the forest, living behind our homes homeless, and our chickens roasted With rifles and A. K'47s they came, unleashing mayhem, sweeping out innocent souls Like rapists they defiled Borno, a home of peace turned into where cockroaches and rats dine and wine in amusement Ooh! Mujahid Ameen lilo, write me Borno! Write me of how it used to be the home of peace, how its nature attracts the mind and soul © Hassan Idris  1/9/2019

Elhussein : A beacon of light

A beacon of light: The lions roar By: ©Hassan Idris The struggle and hope for a better administration and a trusthworthy leadership has been a dreading issues to Sociologists of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Nigeria. Thence, There’s no society in every hitherto existing society that has developed with bad leadership and selfish leaders. The significance of good leadership put a green-light to the transformation, reformation and revitalization of the society. Whence, the society is a juggernaut with the ever present possibilities of running amok.  Like Ghandi aforementioned, " The spirit of democracy is not a mechanical thing to be adjusted by abolition of forms. It requires change of heart." Nevertheless, from the preceeding years, the megahit of Nigerian Sociological and Anthroplogical student's Association of Nigeria, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria Chapter, Nigeria (N. S. A. S. A), has witnessed lots of impunities, political jabberwocky and brouhaha, with nothing ...

For thy love is an unstoppable mirage, yearned to count ways, loving thee to the depth, the depth  of river Niger and river Benue, to the breadth, the unending parallel lines of the road and its miraged view afar,to the height, the unending motion of the cloud Beloved, my soul yearned, could reach when feeling out of sight, for the end so being an ideal grace. ©Ummul Sufyan August,2019 Ummul Sufyan is an upcoming poetess who hails from Kogi state, Nigeria. Poem : Mr. late by:Hassan Idris

On that day thou will heist me and biff me just like we were accustomed to, but will still be speechless With my breath truncated, eyes opened but close; can't see thou for thou will marvel what's wrong with me With my hands weak, cold like an ice block that has been solidify and thou will burst into cry, exclaiming Mr. Late. Thou will encapsulate the benovelence of mine and the malevolence, but please forgive me! For then, thou will be anxious to sight me, for I will be covered with white garment, for anew, thou will shed tears like a nursing mother nursing her dead baby,  Afflictively will it be, seeing thou crying, but the truth is 'when the time is due, there's no addition nor deduction 'for we must all leave. Hassan Idris writes from Benue, Nigeria
